I feel like I’m cutting this one a bit fine posting a Christmas DIY just a couple days before the big day, but if I’m perfectly honest, I feel like everything has been cut a little fine this month. Why is the lead up to Christmas always so ridiculously busy? Even two days before Christmas, I’ve got client calls planned, am writing Christmas cards, sending final invoices, and trying to wrap up the year as tidily as I can.
Clive and I went for a manic last-minute Christmas shop on Saturday, and we have now officially got all of our presents. Tonight’s plan is to get them wrapped and, as you’d expect, I have an overly ambitious idea of how I want to wrap them because it wouldn’t be Christmas if there wasn’t a last minute panic to make something else handmade. I’m normally a planner, but it seems that nothing happens ahead of time at this time of the year.
And so here it is – probably the last DIY of the year… a quick and easy way to make your own wrapping paper. You can save on the last minute dash out to the shops and be sure not to end up with the last roll of multi-coloured paper printed with toy poodles dressed as elves on. Here’s a much more tasteful option and I can assure you, the 3 hours required to make enough of this for all your presents, and the rolls and rolls of paper spread over the house, will in no way add to the stress of the Christmas countdown!
